Northern Norway Troms og Finnmark TROMSØ

Fjord Cruise, Wildlife and Culture Safari

  • Sjøgata 29, Tromsø
  •  /  km From You
Overview

This tour is conducted by Wild seas. Discover the Arctic wildlife and scenic landscapes of Tromsø on a fjord cruise and take in Norway's stunning nature! Drift back in time and listen to stories filled with Norwegian history and culture.

After, we go out to sea and enjoy the beautiful nature while looking for unique arctic wildlife. Everyday is different, but we typically observe majestic sea eagles, dolphins, porpoises, seals, reindeer and more. If we are lucky, we might even see a whale!

As we sail along the arctic fjords, you’ll learn about the Norwegian history & culture, from the German Invasion & World War II to chronicles of the Old Whaling station and how Norwegians were dependent on whaling as a way of life. As we pass by historical landmarks and old settlements, we imagine these people’s way of life as far as 10,000 years ago.

In the winter, the sky of Northern Norway is filled with magical polar daylight of pink and light blue. Combined with the snow caped mountains and fjords, the mesmerizing view is a perfect backdrop for a photo shoot, especially with the opportunity of seeing the wildlife. In the summer and autumn, the cruise with colorful scenery and the wildlife is an enjoyable time away from the bustling city.
