Jøkelfjord Glacier - Explore 70 Degrees

  •  /  km From You
Overview

Let us introduce you to the heart of Kvænangen alps and the amazing Jøkelfjord glacier.

In our open and steady boat, we will set course towards the majestic Kvænangen Alps by crossing the fjord of Kvænangen.

Our main goal is the unique Jøkelfjord glacier, which is leftovers from the last ice age and the rising.

When arriving the inner part of Jøkelfjord, we take a break in front of the glacier. During this stop, we might be lucky to get entertained by the powerful experience; a glacier calving! In springtime, the glacier calving is at its most active, which will result in floating glacier parts in the fjord. A real fascinating sight! Jøkelfjordglacier is the only glacier on land- Europe that calves into the ocean.

During the activity we will present to you local stories and sights worth knowing. Hidden gems, bird colonies and local animals might be topics to include in this memorial excursion. Our local guide will make sure the activity is accomplish in a high quality and safety way, so you will feel taken care of and safeguarded. We look forward beeing your host.
