The National Gallery has been closed temporarily since 13 January 2019 to secure a safe moving process to the new National Museum, to open in 2022.
The art collection of the National Gallry, including Edvard Munch's best known paintings, is currently being moved into the new National Mueseum.
The New National Museum
The New National Museum is currently under construction near Oslo City Hall. The museum will be the biggest of its kind in Scandinavia and is scheduled to open in spring 2022. In the spectacular new building, visitors can marvel at old and new art, architecture, design and crafts - all under one roof.
