This tour is conducted by Arctic Home. Join our local guide Bente, who is born and raised in Tromsø, for a guided walk where you will learn about the culture and the day-to-day life in the arctic.
After the walk you are invited to the guide's family home for tradisjonal Norwegian waffles and a hot drink. Bente will meet you at 11 am at Radisson Blu Hotel. After a few minutes cab ride you will arrive at the neighbourhood in question. In a short distance you will pass a local primary school, the Sami kindergarten, Northern Lights Observatory, the ski slope and Prestvannet, a popular outdoor area.
After the walk, which takes about 1 hour, you will arrive at Bente's cosy house where you are invited in for a hot drink and some traditional Norwegian waffles with the local cheese "brunost", jam and sour cream. If you want you are welcome to fry your own waffle by using a special waffle iron. If you want to relaxe you can enjoy the beautiful view of the mountains at Kvaløya from the living room while the waffles are being made.
At 13.45 a taxi will pick you up and take you back to the starting point in the centre of Tromsø.
Included: local guide, transfer, hot drink, Norwegian waffles with the cheese "brunost", jam and sour cream.
Please bring: warm and suitable clothing and shoes for walking outside
