One-of-a-kind museum with inspiring stories of the Nobel Peace Prize and people's efforts to create a better world
Trough exhibitions, events and digital installations, the Nobel Peace Center teaches you about the famous philanthropist Alfred Nobel, the Nobel Peace Prize and the people who have received the award since it was established in 1901. The museum is conveniently located next to the Oslo City Hall, where the Peace Prize is awarded in December every year.
The Nobel field is the heart of the museum: An unforgettable installation where all the Peace Prize laureates are presented in a garden of lights. The presentation includes images, texts and videos about their lives and accomplishments. From here, you can move along to the Peace Prize Exhibition, which documents the efforts of the current winner (or winners) in an engaging manner.
Children of all ages will enjoy the Nobel mystery, where the whole family can join in the hunt to find the missing will of Alfred Nobel. Along the way, you will gather clues, learn a lot and finally crack the code to the safe at Alfred's home in San Remo, Italy.
During summer, every Friday at noon, a peace dove is released from the window above the entrance, bearing good news.
Originality, sustainability and fair trade characterize the selection in the Nobel Shop.
