Reindeer sledding and Sami herding culture experience near to Tromsø city. You will get approx. 20 minutes ride. Then feed the reindeer in SamiCamp. An English speaking guide will be telling stories by the fire. Listen also to drumming and joik of Sami music. Transfer from city center to SamiCamp included. Hot meal Bidos n(reindeer broth) and coffe / tea with cake. Good conditions to watch the Nothern Lights above our Camp.
SamiCamp is located approximately 20-minute drive from Tromsø city centre, on Kvaløya, where the reindeer and sleds are waiting. We offer an introduction to reindeer sledding, before you join our Sami guides for an unforgettable experience of reindeer sledding (approx. 20 minutes).
Back at the camp you can learn more about the reindeer and even feed the herd of reindeer. If you are lucky they will feed from your hands! Inside the lavvu (a traditional Sami tent) warm drinks and a traditional Sami hot meal will be cooked over the fire and then served. After the meal you are invited to gather around the fire and listen to stories about Sami culture, life as a reindeer herder and even listen to the traditional Sami song called ‘joik’.
Included: transfer (20 minutes each wat), knowledgeable English speaking guide, storytelling and joik, hot drinks and Bidos (reindeer broth)
Please bring: Warm clothes (at least two layers), mittens, hat, good winter boots.

From December 20th to March 20th there is an additional departure at 11am (11:00) Monday to Friday. Departure from outside Radisson Blu Hotel

Please note, reindeer sledding is depending on the snow conditions. If cancelled due to lack of snow, the tour will be changed to "Feeding the Reindeer" and the difference in prices will be refunded.
